Inspired by the iconic '80s, boxing, and the graceful world of ballet, Campbell's 'Rough Pointe' collection is a punchy yet graceful affair. But here's where it gets interesting: Campbell's personal connection to ballet adds a layer of emotion to the collection.
"The brand is all about embracing the contrast between soft and strong, and finding your own unique balance," Campbell explains. And this is where the magic happens.
The collection features a delightful mix of pointelle tops with ditsy florals, tulle tutus that are simply enchanting, and boxer shorts crafted from dupion silk, offering a tough yet luxurious touch. It's a fashion lover's dream come true!
But there's more to the story. Campbell's inspiration stems from his own childhood desire to dance, a wish his parents never granted. "I used to watch the ballet kids with envy, their cute tutus and knit tops were so captivating," he reminisces.
And so, the knit wrap tops and tulle-detailed trousers in the collection pay homage to those childhood memories. Even the 'Glory Boy' T-shirt, a fresh twist on Campbell's iconic 'British Boy' slogan, adds a modern touch to the brand's narrative.
Campbell's direct-to-consumer success has led him to focus on expanding his wholesale presence, and with 52 garments designed for this collection, it's his biggest yet!
The collection launched with a stylish look book curated by i-D magazine's Alex Kessler, and it will be showcased to buyers during Paris' June menswear fashion week.
