Still lots of Brier action for fans without tickets to main events
Unlike the last time St. John’s hosted the Brier, you don’t need a ticket to the main events to get in on some of the fun. The Patch, located at the St. John’s Convention Centre, will be open to everyone, says Eugene Trickett, vice-chair of the host committee.
"There will be lots of hustle and bustle at all hours of the day," Trickett says. "Live entertainment will kick off as soon as the doors swing open at noon. Fans can gather around and watch some of the matches on the TV screens. It’s not unusual to see some of the teams filtering in and out of the venue either."
The Brier gets underway tomorrow night at the Mary Brown’s Centre. So, even if you don’t have a ticket, you can still enjoy the excitement and atmosphere of the Brier by visiting The Patch.
